    Better Than Unflavored

I have been using the naked unflavored whey protein for quite some time and love it. I've already tried and reviewed their beef unflavored protein (not a fan) and decided to give the vanilla beef a try (what was I thinking??).

I learned my lesson from the last beef "experiment" so when I added this powder to my morning matcha, I used half of a serving. Still got the weird, olive green/mustard yellow color and my anxiety started rising. Went ahead and added my milk and whatnot, took a deep breath ... And noticed the smell was not very enticing. But I plunged ahead and took a drink. Paused. Took another breath WITHOUT inhaling through my nose and tried again. Now, it's not my normal flavored matcha I have grown to love, but it's not "oh my gosh, exorcise this evilness!" either. I finished it, slower than normal, but will not be doing it again.

But I know after the first beef protein experience, I can add this to my nightly shake (I make it from the powder versus buying premade). The Slimfast overpowers the beefy flavor, so it will not go to waste.

But I'll stick with the unflavored whey going forward.

Flavorless, Mixes Well with Immersion Blender, No Specification if It's Grass Finished

I received Naked Beef Protein Isolate - Grass Fed European Beef Bones, 21g Protein, 0g Carbs, Collagen, Amino Acids, Dairy Free, No Artificial Ingredients, Paleo Keto Carnivore Friendly, Unflavored - 20 Servings when it was priced at $49.99, which comes out to $2.50 per serving which initially seemed high to me, but then I figured you could also view it almost like a protein bar, in which case it somehow doesn't seem as expensive.

    Here are my takeaways:

    Pros:

-seems simple and pure- grass fed European beef bones and sunflower lecithin

-added this to my mushroom coffee instead of my usual collagen powder, and I didn't notice any difference, and no "beefy" taste

-light and fluffy powder- blended well with a handheld immersion blender/frother

    Cons:

-does not specifiy whether the cattle are "grass finished" as it only says "grass fed." This could indicate that they ate grass for some of their lives and then before slaughter were given other grains or soy to fatten them up. For the price, I'd prefer grass finished just for more health benefits.

-it's quite a large container for only 20 servings, as the product settles and more could certainly be fit in it. I don't like having to buy plastic containers so frequently (for environmental reasons) so it'd be nice if the packaging were re-thought, or the space was utilized to fit more servings

-pricey- like I mentioned, at the price when I received it, each serving is $2.50 which seems expensive to me for a protein supplement, but…

    Handy Nutrition Alternative

The Naked brand of protein is my all-time favorite. I have used their Whey Protein for years. Initially, I thought the beef protein would be "beefy," but after trying it, I can say that it only tastes subtly different from the whey. It mixes easily, and the idea of consuming beef protein may have some nutritional benefits.

    Good Whey Alternative

This beef protein isolate is a solid alternative for people who can't tolerate whey or prefer an animal-based, dairy-free protein source-but it has some pros and cons compared to traditional protein powders.

One of the biggest positives is the ingredient simplicity. Like most products from Naked Nutrition, this keeps things very clean with no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or unnecessary fillers. It's also made from grass-fed European beef bones, which appeals to people following paleo, keto, or carnivore-style diets.

The macros are another strong point. You get around 21g of protein per serving with virtually no carbs or sugar, making it easy to fit into different nutrition plans. Beef isolate products also naturally contain collagen-related amino acids like glycine and proline, which some people specifically look for to support joints and connective tissue.

That said, it's important to understand that this is not the same as eating beef steak or using whey isolate. Beef protein isolate tends to have a different amino acid profile than whey, particularly with lower leucine content, which matters for muscle protein synthesis. It still works as a protein supplement, but whey generally remains the gold standard for muscle-building efficiency.

Taste and texture are probably the biggest drawbacks here. Since it's unflavored and made from beef protein/collagen sources, it can have a slightly earthy or broth-like undertone depending on what you mix it with. The texture can…

Clumpy but Tolerable, Average Value for Cost

Item: Naked Beef Protein Isolate - Grass Fed European Beef Bones, 21g Protein, 0g Carbs, Collagen, Am

This is a large container of protein powder. It is based on European beef. The bottle contains 20 servings. I was disappointed that the super large jar was not filled even to the word NAKED on the packaging. I realize the product is based on weight. I weighed it and it seemed appropriate but comes off as a marketing issue using such a large jar and then only filling it a little over half way.

I mixed the protein powder into a smoothy. It clumped little balls and did not blend well for me. I could taste a beefy flavor. I wasn't over all delighted with the taste but it gets protein into my system which keeps me full. I like that the product contains just two ingredients. At the price point of 44.99 for 20 servings, it's an average value.
